Venture capital is a capital investment in a small, emerging firm. The investor takes a financial risk to support a company in which they see the high potential. They would usually invest in more companies. Financiers are profiting because at least some of them are going to be successful. But investors also need to accept a failure many times.
Venture capital is usually connected with some innovative technology or business model. This strategy helps companies that are too small to increment in public markets. Individuals who invest in a company become stakeholders and the profit depends on the growth.
Financing stages consist of seed funding, start-up, series A (growth phase), series B (selling product, but not profiting). The last two phases are expansion and exit of the financier.
