Being a Real Estate Photographer can be such a lonely profession. We do our retouching alone. The drive to and from shoots, alone. The shoot itself, mostly alone, although we may be greeted by the homeowner or realtor. And last time I checked homes don’t talk back LOL. This is where the idea for the CubiCollective was born. Tammy D, one of our awesome community managers had a brilliant idea to begin meeting with fellow CubiCasa Photographers. Yes, an actual face-to-face gathering.
What is CubiCollective?
CubiCollective is a community-led initiative with the aim to help real estate photographers cooperate with each other for local shoots in unpredictable situations, knowledge transfer, and networking events. The project is in the works and awaiting feedback from our dear community and if you have any ideas you would like to come true, contact Tammy Dwight or Marc Smith.
So after a little brainstorming, we are beginning an east coast and west coast collective. The purpose is to help local photographers build from the community that originated online and forge relationships in person. Building on the premise of the community over competition. In reality, we are so much better together.
Why do we need CubiCollective?
This will be a pod led by and for the community of real estate photographers. Imagine the ideas that can come from a group of people who share best practices and help each other solve problems. Think about how much better the collective becomes when we are complimentary first. The possibilities are endless and there is also the great notion that you can have a little FUN. Put the camera down for a moment and relax to enjoy a cup of coffee and a danish.
I personally am very excited to get to know some of the photographers in my local areas. Moreover, I love being able to help others solve problems and I love hearing creative ideas that may help propel my business forward. I also look forward to the day when there are CubiCollectives all over the world. Sharing, laughing, learning, and helping each other to grow. As the saying goes, “A rising tide raises all ships”.
