CubiCasa 3.0 Release: What’s New?
We started building this release in late Fall 2023, as we recognized two system issues at hand. Firstly, we have many new features that we would not want to release as paid add-ons, but rather ship as part of the product. Secondly, our mobile and web apps needed to be rebuilt because the frameworks we used started to become outdated. As a user, you have seen this as fewer new features and releases because our teams have been focusing on rebuilding the existing features and adding new ones. So, what are the new features?
New Features
There are two significant new features: Home Report and Snapshots. Both aim to help real estate professionals represent a property in interesting new ways.
The new Home Report includes insights and numeric data about the property required for MLS listing creation; room dimensions, room types, counts of rooms, and also detailed information about each room.
The Snapshots feature is designed for documenting a property – our appraiser and home inspector users need to create a floor plan and take photos of the subject property. Why would we not allow our users to do everything at once, taking their photos and doing a CubiCasa scan at the same time? For real estate marketing, the Snapshots Report can be used as a detail oriented handout that documents features that are not shown on the web listing.
Home Report
From the same 5-minute scan you already know and love, the Home Report provides you with a new tool to create and enhance your listings, including:
- Easy copy-paste room measurements for MLS data entry
- In-depth home details to answer common questions from buyers
- A printable handout for open houses
Snapshots and Snapshots Report
The Snapshot feature allows you to take photos while scanning and receive a special report showing the exact location on the floor plan where each photo was taken, as well as access to all of the photos you took.
What are the benefits of Snapshots?
- Save the images to your camera roll during the property visit, and skip going through the property twice
- Provide an in-depth look inside the property – present unique home features that are not included within the listing photos
- Clearly show where these features are located inside the home
- No need to tour the property twice
- A printable handout for open houses
The natural question is, how do you get access to these features? Let’s dive into that next.
New Packages: Lite, Plus, Plus 3D
Lite
Love the free floor plan? Great! Free floor plans are still available as the Lite package. However, some of the previously free features are now exclusively available under the Plus package. On Lite, you can’t change the floor plan style, have total areas displayed, customize the standard disclaimer, or download the floor plan as SVG. Otherwise, the free floor plan stays the same, and the majority of our customers won’t see any difference in their floor plans.
Plus
This is the exciting new package and the cornerstone of future CubiCasa floor plans. Remember the Fixed Furniture add-on? Now with the same affordable price of $15, you’ll get access to:
- Fixed Furniture
- Home Report (see above)
- Snapshots and Snapshots Report (see above)
- Styling features
- Customizing the disclaimer
- Area displayed on listing floor plan
- SVG download
Plus 3D
Plus 3D includes everything from Plus, but in addition, you’ll get a 3D floor plan with materials and loose furniture. Of course, the 3D Video Render is still available as an add-on.
Differences for Customers Outside the US
Customers outside the US won’t see the new Lite package; instead, you’ll see a package called “Standard” that includes the same features as before – you won’t see any differences in your floor plans.
New Interfaces
No release is a real release unless it includes some eye candy. While rebuilding the mobile and web apps, we decided to take the opportunity to also improve the design of our apps. You’ll notice a restructuring of our mobile app home screen and navigation bar, and several smaller changes all over the UI. Now you’ll stay more up-to-date about the process of your most recent order and find help faster when needed!
On the web, there’s a new primary navigation panel and improved information architecture throughout the web experience. Going forward, the new frameworks will allow us to develop new features faster – stay tuned!
Changes for 3D Products
Since launching our 3D products in June 2023, we’ve delivered thousands of products to real estate professionals worldwide. Our reality-matching materials and loose furniture features have become particularly popular, distinguishing CubiCasa from other scanning apps. With this release, we are phasing out the option for 3D products without these features as their usage is extremely low compared to fully featured 3D products.
When is the release date?
iOS users and web interface have access to these new features when you are reading this blog post. Android will have a separate release later in early May. We’ll make a separate announcement when the new Android app is released.
What’s Coming Next?
With the introduction of new product packages, anticipate more features under the Plus package. We’re also developing exciting new technology to create more immersive experiences for real estate marketing. That’s all I can reveal for now, but stay tuned for more!
